Solar Optimizer Installation

IPD’s team of field technicians installed over 5,000 AMPT 1500-volt DC String Optimizers at 5 utility scale PV + Storage sites in New York State. The sites’ solar capacity ranged from 5 MW – 20 MW. The scope of work included all site switching, de-energization, and lockout-tagout. Each optimizer was mounted, electrically connected, logged, and commissioned.
String voltages, voltage across the optimizers, polarity checks, and signoffs were performed on all units. Several sites required significant amounts of landscaping to provide access to the work areas.

While on-site, miscellaneous PV maintenance and repairs were performed for the site host and other equipment manufacturers. This included activities like PV panel replacement and inverter/BESS inspections.
